Personality disorders are grouped into three distinct clusters, each sharing their own unique traits. Cluster C disorders are considered to be the anxious, fearful cluster. The most common trait shared among these disorders is an overwhelming level of anxiety.
This condition is characterized by an obsessive or preoccupation with order and rule. Thus, people with this condition often labeled as perfectionist, efficient, and are rigidly observant to order and neatness. Cluster C personality disorders are identified when the way an individual feels, thinks, or acts impairs his/her capability to live a healthy life, or when it generates severe distress for him/her or the people around them. Histrionic, Narcissistic, Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorders are in this category. Cluster C Personality Disorders include anxious and fearful behaviors such as those commonly found in Obsessive-Compulsive, Avoidant and Dependent Personality Disorders. General Characteristics of Cluster C Personality Disorders People with Cluster C personality disorders are afraid of specific things and avoid confronting those fears.
